Men’s Quail Hunt

In celebration of the church’s upcoming 100th birthday, we invite you to join the men of PRUMC at The Burge Club for a Quail Hunt.

All skill levels are encouraged to participate.  The Burge Club staff will offer a two-hour training session for novice hunters.  Minors are welcome if they accompany their parent, and partner with their dad during the hunt.  Learn more about The Burge Club property at: www.burgeclub.com.

• 3:00 to 6:00 pm: Arrive at Burge Plantation  |  Check into cabins for overnight guests  |  Optional clay shooting
• 6:30 pm: Dinner at Mike Ivey’s Cabin.
• 9:00 pm: Cocktails and stories by the fire.

Friday, March 28, 2025

• 8:00 am – 9:00 am: Breakfast at Mike Ivey’s Cabin  |  Note: Please vacate rooms and place all bags in cars before heading to breakfast.
• 9:30 am – 1:00 pm: Quail Hunt.
• 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm: Lunch.
• 2:00 pm: Departure or linger longer

About the quail hunt:
The hunting group typically includes fifty birds put out per four hunter group. The four-man hunter group has one guide and they all ride in a single transport vehicle with the bird dogs. Two men hunt at the time on the ground with their guide and dogs while the other two hunters stay in the transport vehicle (for safety) awaiting their turn. The hunt typically lasts three hours. All skill levels are encouraged to participate. For novice hunters a two-hour training session will be offered by the Burge staff. Minors are welcome if they accompany their parent and are partnered with them during the hunt.
