Diane Scanlan is the Program Assistant to the Director of Lay Volunteer Service and Local Outreach. She supports the many community outreach programs the church provides – including the Homeless Ministry. Originally from the Boston area, she gained her Associate’s Degree in Hotel Management and a job in that field brought her to the Atlanta area. She credits that degree with helping her work with many different kinds of people. Diane enjoys time with her friends, watching live music, binge-watching, and reading murder mysteries. Bucket list items include learning Spanish, learning to play the piano, and cruising the Greek Islands.
Ruth Sommerville
Ruth Sommerville is our Music and Arts Administrator. Her primary role is supporting the Music and Arts Ministry and Worship Ministry and thrives on making our services, concerts, and special events the best they can be. Originally from a small farming community in Illinois, she grew up singing in choirs, playing the piano, flute, and saxophone. She majored in sociology at the University of Illinois and moved to Atlanta in 1986. Now she is a Dawgs fan! Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, going to concerts, and spending time with her family.
Beth Spencer
Beth Spencer is our Director of Volunteer Service and Local Outreach. She helps connect our members to meaningful opportunities within our church walls and out in the Atlanta Community. She oversees large church-wide events such as Christmas Kindness and the Season of Service and is passionate about the underserved. She maintains close relationships with the 22 partner agencies the church supports. Beth grew up at Peachtree Road, and graduated from Pace Academy and Hollins University. When not serving the church and the community, Beth enjoys watching sports with her husband and sons, reading historical fiction, gardening, and being outside. Her dream is to spend time in Great Britain exploring the Cotswolds, Cornwall, the Scottish Highlands, and visiting Normandy France.
